Hand-made by Chuck Lee, a master craftsman in Ovilla, Texas, these banjos were recommended to us by clawhammer master Dan Levenson. The Prairieville model has a shapely peghead and simple beauty. Includes a 12-inch pot for more depth in sound.
The Prairieville has a laminated neck with colored veneers running up each side of the center strip, under the peghead, fingerboard and heel cap. It features a standard-shaped heel, frailing scoop, a 25.5" scale, a double action truss-rod and a Scalloped Bone nut. Ebony fingerboard and peghead overlay. The peghead has the traditional Flower Pot look but look close the pot has an inlay of a Lady holding a pot herself. The fingerboard has flowers at the 5th and 12th frets. An 11" or 12" two-ply rim with a brass hoop for a tone ring. 5-star tuning pegs. Pearl side dots, a no-knot tailpiece and a Renaissance Head.
Note: Our banjos are individually inspected, set up and tuned by the banjo.com staff in Georgia. We are banjo players, so we set them up the way we want to play them! Each banjo is in tune when we carefully pack it for shipment. Climate conditions and travel will affect the tuning, so it may need to be fine-tuned before playing. |
