All action without the glitter, the Rose Hill has gentle peghead lines covered with the simple beauty of Madagascar Rosewood peghead overlay. With Madagascar on the fingerboard to match, the beauty speaks for itself. No inlays are needed. The neck joins the pot with a Dobson-style heel. Made in USA. Includes a 12-inch pot for more depth in sound.
Neck: built of carefully chosen, properly dried woods. Chuck Lee hand-s wood with interesting grain, "beauty marks" and color. After the right piece is in hand, it is laid up with various colored veneers on each side of the center strip, and under the finger board. A 25 1/2" scale is used for easy fingering and tuning up to other keys. To meet the differing playing styles a two-way truss rod is installed with the adjustment in the heel allowing the relief to be adjusted. The way the neck is mounted to the rim allows for easy adjustment of the action. A Scalloped bone nut on one end and a frailing scoop on the other completes a well made, easy-to-play neck.
Fingerboard: features Madagascar Rosewood for it simple beauty. Pearl, Gold Pearl or Abalone side dots set off the side of each fingerboard and gives a road map to play by.
Pegheads: distinct and visually-pleasing peghead designs allow each model to have its own personality. Nickel-plated 5-Star tuners are standard.
Inlay: this is one of Chuck Lee's passions. After striving for a neck profile that is a pleasure to play, he wants the inlay to "dance" in each viewers mind in a way they may never forget.
Rims: 12-inch of two-ply maple, 3-inches tall and 1/2-inch thick. A rim cap is fitted to the bottom of each two-ply rim.
Hardware: nickel-plated ball end nuts, shoes (with custom screws), hooks, tension hoops, and No-Knot tailpiece are standard on all models. A Renaissance Head rounds out the package.
Artist Eyes: each banjo has some unique features. It may be standard for a model to have a blackened pot but some may come through with natural maple or different stains. Some necks are natural and some stained. The inlay may be different in some way like color, application, quantity and design.
Exceptions: due to material availability brand names, head types and such may change without notice.
Note: Our banjos are individually inspected, set up and tuned by the banjo.com staff in Georgia. We are banjo players, so we set them up the way we want to play them! Each banjo is in tune when we carefully pack it for shipment. Climate conditions and travel will affect the tuning, so it may need to be fine-tuned before playing. |
