A complete starter pack for the new 5-string banjo player, including the popular Goodtime banjo with resonator!
Made in USA.
A resonator back provides more projection of sound in the Goodtime 2. Deering makes it here in the USA, at the Deering shop with the same tooling they use to make the top of the line banjos. Greg Deering designed the Goodtime banjos because there were no low priced banjos of enough quality for people to actually learn on without difficulty or giving up. He remembers what it was like to want a good banjo and not be able to afford one, so his gift to others is the Goodtime banjo line. Designed for success, the Goodtime banjos are the lowest priced American made banjos.
They are so good many professionals have recorded with Goodtime banjos. The Goodtime 2 weighs 6 lbs, about the weight of a guitar. Includes
a natural blonde maple satin finish to protect it. If you want a great low priced bluegrass banjo for travel and leisure that plays correctly and is durable, this is the best buy on the market!
Want railroad spikes? We install HO-gauge railroad spikes free when you purchase a banjo from us. We recommend installing them on frets 7 and 9 (A and B). This serves as a capo for the 5th string, an idea that was developed and used by Earl Scruggs himself. We use them, and so do most of the professional players we know. When you're playing, you don't really notice the spikes because they're out of the way, but they're always there when you need them. Simply slide the 5th string under the spike. When you're done, slide it out. If you want spikes, let us know in the comments box at checkout.
Note: Our banjos are individually inspected, set up and tuned by the Banjo.com staff in Georgia. We are banjo players, so we set them up the way we want to play them! Each banjo is in tune when we carefully pack it for shipment. Climate conditions and travel will affect the tuning, so it may need to be fine-tuned before playing.
