We have a very limited supply of collectible new Deering banjos. This Ivanhoe, serial number H965, a right-handed model, was manufactured by Deering in California during the month of May, 2007. It includes the new Deering tone ring, which went into regular production in Sierra models during the first quarter of 2006. These no-hole tone rings were produced for only about a year and are no longer available. Only the 20-hole tone rings are currently in production. We are selling the last of these collectible banjos at lower prices to make room for new inventory. Our price includes a Deering premium hard-shell case and the limited lifetime warranty from Deering.

If you want a banjo that is as beautiful as it sounds, you will cherish having an Ivanhoe. Deering reserves the most highly figured walnut for the neck and the most rare pieces of exotic burl walnut veneer for the resonator. The beautiful veneer on the resonator is the same veneer as used on the inside of a Rolls Royce.
Deering craftsmen do something very special with the inlays by setting abalone shell into mother-of-pearl and then inlaying them both flawlessly into the ebony fingerboard. Shell inlaid into shell is rare. The abalone adds a colorful sparkle of blue, green, and red to the white mother-of-pearl inlays. Also, along the edges of the neck and resonator the ivoroid binding is dressed up with multi-colored trim of hand-set abalone shell. The neck is fully adjustable, as are all Deering necks, with a two-way adjustable truss-rod.
The Ivanhoe features a three-ply hard rock-maple rim trimmed with ivoroid binding, zinc flange, and a sand-cast virgin bell bronze tone-ring, giving it the finest sound possible. You'll find superb craftsmanship in every aspect of the Ivanhoe, from the triple bound peghead to the hand-carved heel and the superbly engraved gold plated metal parts. The intricate pierced armrest, accented with elegant floral engraving is only available on the Ivanhoe. It is a work of art that will be treasured for generations to come. With the exceptional tone quality and feel of the neck it's more than just a show piece, it's a banjo player's dream.
Note: Our banjos are individually inspected, set up and tuned by the banjo.com staff in Georgia. We are banjo players, so we set them up the way we want to play them! Each banjo is in tune when we carefully pack it for shipment. Climate conditions and travel will affect the tuning, so it may need to be fine-tuned before playing. |
