| Presented here are 9 transcriptions and 1 original piece which serve to reveal the banjo's potential as a "classical" instrument. More specifically, the transcriptions are from the renaissance and baroque periods with the original piece (October Court) being written with a definite renaissnace flavor. WIth its tembre being similar to that of the lute and harpsichord, the banjo is well suited for music of these periods. The pieces are arranged according to their level of difficulty. This book goes great with "The Classical Banjo: John Bullard CD". |
